Black History of Maternal and Infant Mortality
February is Black History Month. It is a time to look at the achievements but also the continued issues facing Black Americans. Black infants die at about twice the rate of the national average. Black mothers die due to pregnancy complications compared to White mothers. This episode will focus on the unnecessary loss of lives of Black Mothers and their infants. Our nation has to provide the necessary services so that this segment of our population can thrive like the rest of us.
